D.I.Y | Party: Cocktail Stirrers #2

Fluffy, luscious, delicate and soft are just a few words to describe tulle. Honestly, I never used, purchased or really touched tulle, until last year when I made tutus for a little girl’s photo shoot. The tutus came out adorable and I was wishing I was 12 and could wear a tutu, so the next best thing is a tutu for a cupcake.

As mentioned in the last post on feather drink stirrers, I had a few materials left over from a champagne craft party and decided to make cocktail stirrers. The how-to guide on making tulle fabric flowers can be read here…then you just use two fabric flowers and one wood stick and glue together. Of course, these stirrers are not just for cocktails, a fresh fruit punch and these sweet stirrers would be perfect for a girl’s party.

D.I.Y | Party : Cocktail Stirrers #1

It might be the bohemian spirited side of my personality. Just like Shrek said “Ogres are like onions” meaning we all have lots of layers, but I have a girlie romantic layer of me that adores flowers in my hair, being barefoot, loose braids, and feathers!

Last weekend, I was cleaning up from a girlie champagne craft party and had leftover materials and BAM! I knew I wanted to create offbeat cocktail stirrers for my bar!

The feather stirrers now just need exotic cocktails in jewel toned glasses, then roses, candles, metallic accents, a Moroccan feast, records and friends.

Feather Cocktail Stirrers

Need:

  • Bamboo stirrers or wood dowels
  • Feathers
  • Hot glue gun
  • Metallic string

How:

Glue each feather one at a time to the end of your stick. Finish off by wrapping the base of the feather with metallic wire and then securing your wire with glue at the beginning and end of your twists.
