Ice Cream Party Essentials

1.  Flavors. The ice cream is number uno. If you do not have the time or tools to make your own, visit your local creamery and splurge on two flavors such as a classic vanilla and the shoppe’s speciality. If you have guests that are non-dairy offer a sorbet or try a coconut based ice cream.

2. Toppings. Serve the classics and a few surprises…maybe, spiced nuts, caramel popcorn, yogurt covered pretzels.

3. Bowls, cups, and cones! Provide cones and bowls. My favorite bowls {ever} are from Anthropologie they are the perfect single scoop and Anthro offers an array of colors.

4. Spoons. A simple wooden spoon. Dip dyed, polka dots, striped or left plain. Makes each bite and lick so much more fun.

5. Party decor. Set a fun mood without spending a lot. A striped table-cloth, cheerful banner, or just bring out your nice dishes to display the bowls, cones and toppings.

6. Great scoops. Get a proper ice cream scooper to serve up perfectly round bites of heaven.

7. Parchment paper. If you are having a lot of guests a cool tip is to create pre-made scoops and store them on a tray lined with parchment paper. Keep in freezer until needed. Saves time and you will also know exactly how many scoops you have.

8. Tunes. A party always needs music. Just a few suggestions:

  • Talking Heads The Good Thing
  • Sam Cooke Having A Party
  • Link Wray La De Da
  • Rolling Stones Dancing with Mr.D
  • Beck Peaches and Cream
  • Phoenix Fences
  • The Bird and the bee Birthday
  • Los Campesinos You! Me! Dancing!
  • Fleetwood Mac Dance
  • Vampire Weekend Horchata
