I am back from an awesome weekend in Northern California and I have a digital pile of images to edit: two weddings and many travel photos. This week will be slim with posts but I have an awesome wedding/event inspiration planned for next week, squash dish, and a yummy dessert.
While organizing my work space I was thinking what are my most used tools for home projects, craft projects and general things like gift giving/client packages.
I have a closet of tools and thingamijgs but these are my most reliable players. My stamps I used often (truth be told I have not pretty handwriting), good scissors, various glues, washi tape, tags (come in handy for personalizing gifts and parties) twine and jute (I own a lot of twine and use it often).
And lastly paint. I use paint quite often, it is the former art teacher in me to have a lot of paint on hand. I love to paint cards, paint to relieve stress, paint found objects or spruce up treasures in our home.
Such as this project…
I had this slab of wood but I had a plant sitting on it and due to moisture and the sun it ended up looking not so elegant after a few months. I sanded it down and was going to cover it in beeswax again, but decided after this post that we needed a little chalkboard in our house for special notes and that would be it’s new purpose.

I love when the most simple DIY projects end up turning out to be the most gorgeous. That wood is stunning!
