Tree Hunting

It was a classic Christmas tree hunting trip. 75 degrees and sunny. Aw tree hunting in California.

Rick and I stopped by a tree farm on our return home from our Thanksgiving trip. This would be our 1st Christmas tree together. Anticipation and excitement was high. We decided on a white fir, less needles to clean and we like the soft, green color.

30 something minutes of deciding between short trees, tall trees, plump trees, narrow trees, we found our tree: 5 foot, slight pear figure, and a long, pointy top.

We happily embraced her into her home and named her Blitzen.

Since, this is our first tree together. Our Christmas tree theme is vintage and baking. We were able to start our collection of ornaments from scratch (pun intended). A while back I started a small collection of vintage cookie cutters, this grew from my Mother and cousin Di. Richard drilled a small hole to the top and I adorned them with red and white baker’s twine. They complement our retro lights as well a few more surprises, D.I.Y coming soon.

As our tree and our family grows it will be fun to see our vintage/retro/baking/ornament collection grow. One bonus is cookie cutters are not breakable!

Cookie cutters and tree photos coming soon…
