Florally Arranged # 2

Today I bring you another edition of “Stacey’s Moonlighting As A Wannabe Floral Designer”. It’s the little things in life and I am telling you I could play with flowers all day. This bouquet includes; Freesias and Sweet William (what a lovely name) and a mystery flower that came from some shrubs outside my house.  The aroma of this bouquet is being conducted by the freesias, to me the smell of a freesia is quiet, like a light breezy scent of honey and strawberries.

I not only stop to smell the roses, but I frequently take photos of other home’s flower and landscape. I learned not to pick other people’s flowers from my Momma, but I am one to scavenge in a field or my own yard for little things to add to arrangements. I firmly believe there is no reason on Earth to spend 40 dollars on an arrangement. This arrangement cost about 10 dollars.

One other thing to note: The vase is a family treasure. My Dad gave this vase to his Mother. My Grandmother gave it to me shortly before she passed away. My Grandma said that my Dad bought it for her for a Mother’s day when he was a little boy and the vase cost a dollar, which was a big deal in the late 50′s/early 60′s. I love this vase and thinking of my Dad as a young tyke picking out this vase.
